Weston United in Harlem

EXECUTIVE OFFICE AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT HEADQUARTERS

Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2010, Weston United has expanded dramatically over the years to meet the community’s growing needs, ultimately serving all of New York’s five boroughs with mental health programs and services tailored to serve the City’s homeless.  The foundation’s history is tied to the northern neighborhood of Harlem and its community leaders, most notably St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.

Selected by the CEO Jean Newburg, Ting + Li Architects researched and evaluated real estate properties for a new Weston United home office.  The 290 Lenox Avenue third floor was leased and retrofitted to suit Weston United needs with dedicated space for unique programs.  The preexisting space features high ceilings and natural light. Ting + Li Architects was able to provide a new reception area, open-air communal office space, interior finishes, and furniture effectively reprogramming the layout to suit its new tenant.
